Becoming a foster family in Maine means providing a safe, supportive home to a child who needs one. First-aid and CPR training is part of the requirements, and is expressly required for treatment-level foster parents. It is one condition within the licensing process overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services.
急救要求
In Maine, first-aid and CPR training is required for treatment-level foster parents, and training requirements for family-level foster parents are set out by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of Child and Family Services during the licensing process. The training should cover adult, child and infant CPR and first aid.
The requirement is administered by DHHS and, where the child's needs call for it, must be kept current. It is one part of the assessment — in addition to the home study and the parenting suitability reviewed by the Department — and does not by itself qualify a person to foster.
